Nik's Biog

Nik Vyas joined GEC Marconi’s graduate scheme and had a brief spell selling torpedoes to foreign governments. Having decided he had moral issues with the arms trade, he decided to join the much more ethically sound media industry. Starting as a graduate trainee at ZenithOptimedia, Nik has worked his way up to group press director. He works on a boy’s dream list of accounts – cars, planes, movies, mobiles and luxury watches (Toyota, Lexus, British Airways, Paramount Pictures, O2 and Richemont). One of his key focuses at the moment is leading the digitisation of the print team. Nik is a regular commentator on industry issues and represents the agency on a number of trade bodies.

Nik's Tribe

"My tribe was created a number of years ago in Clerkenwell and Shoreditch as a result of spending a large part of the weekend (and week) in the area. Being a regular visitor to the Gallery @ Turnmills on Friday nights, we got to know the other members well and some firm and enduring bonds were created, especially during trips to the White Island (Ibiza). Deciding a short walk home was far better than taking cabs to the four corners of London, we all started buying property around the area and now most of our tribe live within walking distance. Regular Friday nights out keep the tribe together, as do weekends away, though rarely these days to the Island – although two of the tribe are planning on building a villa there so maybe the visits will become more frequent!"
